I'd like to take time out from all those blog posts I really need to get done now that the new Patch is here to talk about everything that's has been going on and will be going on in general. Never forget that at the moment, everything is very much up in the air still, and everything is still pretty much a guess and nothing more. Over the next few weeks I'll be updating my blog information with as many new updates as possible about patch 4.0.1 including stat conversion changes, new crit cap information, new hit caps and more. However, it's very important to remember that even talent builds and rotations are still just guesses at the moment. Many of the information I post up about Cataclysm or 4.0.1 may be changed in future as theory crafting is solidified and more guesses are proven or dis proven.
One thing that has definitely already been sorted out is the mathematical conversions of rating to percentage of all the rogue stats. I will be making a blog post about these soon. Buffs have also changed and this is ready for patch 4.0.1 now as per my last blog post about rogue friendly buffs.
Due to this I have been able to release a new version of the Crit Cap Calculator program which is ready for use at Level 80 in patch 4.0.1.
I hope you will all join me as the weeks go on in fine tuning the information on here especially as I try to keep it as up to date as possible while everything changes. Old blog posts that are replaced by new ones will be marked as out of date and contain links to the new information to ensure people do not get lost. They will also be re-categorised under the label "Wrath of the Lich King" so that they are tidied away while the new information will bear the same labels as always alongside the label Cataclysm.
All information is so far for level 80 rogues only! Level 85 information will only be published when the Expansion is released.
To those of you in the USA who are already enjoying the patch I'd love to hear some feedback from you about how things are turning out in practice! and of course happy raiding in your new builds and set up.
CSC3 Is Awesome, thanks for taking the time to make it.
ReplyDeleteOh thanks very much! I don't often get comments about it anymore :P I'm not sure if it will remain useful to know crit caps in cataclysm though we'll haver to wait and see =o But ill keep it going nonetheless ^_^
ReplyDeleteCSC3 is very awesome. I was 10% over crit, reforged to haste and gained 10% haste. My DPS went up 800 single target and felt alot better. Thank you Garona.
ReplyDeleteI'm still leveling my rogue and I'm at level 73 now. Prior to 4.0.1 I was doing around 800 to 1000 DPS on a level 70 training dummy in my mutilate spec. Now, I'm doing slightly over 2k. It's a crazy boost. Not sure if my heirlooms make the difference here or what.
ReplyDeleteHehe good to hear reapest ^_^
ReplyDelete@anon That's to be expected, while leveling up rogues are still very much in full agility gear. its only 80 raiders who are suffering from an initial decrease of dps because all gems enchants etc need to be changed dramatically. :)
Garona,
ReplyDeleteExellent presentation and simplification. Both clear and consise. For your hard work and personal sacarfice, my most sincere Yarr!
Feel free to move this post, for it contains the lowest of intellegence.
Unless im missing something a combat rogue for pve can now equip any melee weapon type with out penality or bonus?
nope that's the idea we now really can use any weapon without worrying about our talent spec ^_^ awesome huh?
ReplyDeletecheers very much too btw^_^
Garona, you are my hero.
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across this blog purely out of luck, and I almost died when I downloaded CSC3!
You're a complete lifesaver, thank you!
