It may take you a little while to get to level 85 in Cataclysm but when you do, these are the best enchants you need to get your hands on for raiding as a rogue regardless of your build. Some of these may require a faction to obtain so further information for special enchants can be found at the end.

Profession Considerations
Some professions have alternative enchants that you may prefer over the standard enchants (as to be expected). I will list below the professions and enchants you should be using for each.

On Back: [Greater Critical Strike Rating] AND (optional as no longer has Agility on it) [Flexweave Underlay]
On Belt: [Nitro Boosts]
Bombs: [High-Powered Bolt Gun]
Reputation Enchants

To obtain this enchant you must be revered with the Ramkahen located in Uldum on Kalimdor.
** Shoulders - [Greater Inscription of Shattered Crystal]
To obtain this enchant you must be Exalted with Therazane located in Deepholm. You can reach Deepholm by talking to an Earthspeaker or Earthern Ring Member to get teleported there. There is an Earthspeaker in Stormwind and Orgrimmar.

Further to the rest of our twitter discussion to clarify the reasonining behind these enchant choices: Level 80 EP values are being used at the moment to determine these enchants. This is because the level 85 EP values are incomplete at the moment. When reasonable calculations are posted about both mutilate and combat EP values these enchants will probably change slightly. Many of my readers will be aware that these details will change but for those that do not yet know it's always recommended you check back often on this blog for updates and changes because as with all new patches and expansions they will happen often!

ReplyDeleteYou are wrong about Greater Crit Rating being the best cloak enchant for Mut and Combat rogues. Crit rating in Cataclysm is rated so low compared to other stats, like agility. Agility is easily the best choice for cloak enchants at this point.
ReplyDeleteIm sorry to dissapoint you but that is incorrect. while crit rating is low, 65 times it is much higher than 22 agi still. You should perhaps actually do the maths for it instead of just passing crit off so easily.

mutilate rogues:
crit on cloak: 65 x 0.9 = 58.5
agi on cloak : 22 x 2.6 = 57.2
combat rogues:
crit on cloak : 65 x 0.95 = 61.75
agi on cloak: 22 x 2.7 = 59.4
and just to clarify once again all of these enchants have been calculated using ep values and updated for level 85 ep values.
